Planning travel has never been easier – there are soooo many sites, big box stores with travel programs, and social media ads with great offers to book travel. And yes, you can book your own travel rather easy. You can spend the hours and hours online, researching resorts and itineraries, watching YouTube videos from other travelers about their experiences at the destination. And you can manage everything yourself. I have done this for YEARS. We have taken some amazing family vacations too!
But I’ve also worked with Travel Agents. They have access to special offers and information that aren’t available to the general public. They can also make sure you get the best treatment possible while on your trip. They will also help you if there is ever a problem. And there will be. It’s just how travel works. Your flight is delayed. Your luggage is lost. Your room isn’t right. The dining reservation is wrong. The excursion was changed. THIS is where the value of an agent is priceless. And you know what? You (usually) don’t have to pay the agent! Travel Agents are compensated for their efforts by the vendor (hotel, airline, cruise line, resort, etc). And it’s a cycle…if agents bring the vendor guests, and the guests are happy, they will bring more guests. Or repeat guests. And everyone wins. Which is why vendors offer specials to agents for their clients. See how that works?
And in 2022, while life is trying to resume some normal status, there are still restrictions and requirements that change. And an agent will help guide you and get you the current information. If anything these last few years have taught us, is life, and time, are precious. And you can’t get that time back once it’s passed. Book that trip. Take the girls weekend. Plan a family reunion on a white sand beach. Check off that bucket list trip. We are not guaranteed next month, next year, or more.
